New Ordinance Amendments re Operating and Maintenance (O&M) Petitions
Effective July 15, 2018, Section 37.8 of the Rent Ordinance was amended to limit consideration of increases in debt service and property taxes following a change of ownership, as well as management expenses, when a landlord seeks to increase the tenants’ rents based on increased operating and maintenance (O&M) expenses. In order to implement the new legislation, the Rent Board Commissioners are considering possible amendments to Rules and Regulations Section 6.10.
